"Minori was a lovely place; calmer than other Italian cities/towns. It was a short walk to the beach, and lots of great restaurants. It has a charm that makes it feel homely.
The buses were a little hard to navigate, as they were almost all delayed, and only ran until approximately 5:30pm. In contrast, the ferry left about 5 minutes early, despite the staff member who sold the ticket saying we only needed to arrive 5 minutes early - glad we arrived earlier. The only other detail that is confusing about Italy in general is the extra fees simply for being in the region: we were charged a fee to simply sit down at any restaurant, which is seemingly superfluous, as we are already bringing money to the country/region by eating there. The same goes for the “tourist tax,” that accommodations are forced to charge their guests and then pass on to the government - why charge us extra if we’re already bringing in money to the area? It simply makes us not want to return.
However, Minori itself, a great place, felt welcoming. We enjoyed swimming and walking the town at night with its ambience of lights and music filling the streets. Thank you for having us! "
